Business Experience:
McCoy stated that in 1999 over 16,000 documents were recorded in the Register of Deeds office. Of those documents 3,640 were deeds transferring the title to real estate in Butler County. A large amount of revenue is collected from these transactions and deposited into the Butler County General Fund.
In January, 1993 McCoy began a computerized record keeping system. Since that time an imaging system has been implemented, the County's new GIS (Geographic Information System), which enables even better record access for the public.
Education:
Kansas State University recognized McCoy as completing 36 hours of coursework and becoming a Certified Kansas Register of Deeds in October, 1993. She has taken Continuing Education Hours to become recertified.
Community Involvement:
Marcia is currently Chairman of the Salvation Army Board and has been actively involved in United Way, Americans with Disabilities Act, Heart Association and Boy Scouts of America.
Professional Organizations:
She has served all offices in the South Central District of Register of Deeds and is a member of the State of Kansas Register of Deeds Association and past editor of the association's biannual publication, "The Registrar". Marcia is a Past President of Business & Professional Women, is a member of Soroptimist, Past President of Preceptor Beta Alpha Sorority of Beta Sigma Phi, is a member of PEO, and a member of the St. John's Catholic Church.
Personal:
Marcia married Paul McCoy in 1974 and they have two boys, William and Andrew.
