Mike Wheeler represents District # 4 which encompasses the eastern edge of Butler County except for Union Township. Some of the communities in District # 4 include the eastern half of El Dorado, Rosalia, and Cassoday. Commissioner Mike Wheeler was originally appointed by Governor Bill Graves in January 2003 to fill a 2 year term for the newly created District 4 position. Commissioner Wheeler was re-elected and sworn into office in January, 2011 for a 4 year term.

Commissioner Wheeler is a graduate of Leadership Butler and Leadership Kansas, has a Bachelors' Degree in Business Administration from Rockhurst University and has owned and operated Supermarkets in El Dorado and Eureka, Kansas for 25 years. These past 8 years he has worked as a Realtor and a Commercial Fee Appraiser at Sundgren Realty in El Dorado. Mike is a member of ElDorado, Inc., Chairman of the Board of Directors of Susan B. Allen Hospital and serves on the Susan B. Allen Hospital Foundation Board. Mike is also a past Committee Chair for the Red Devil Chefs of the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce and is a Unit Commissioner in the High Plains District of Quivira Council for Boy Scout Troop 222. Residing in El Dorado since 1981, Mike and his wife Debbie, a Guidance Counselor at Circle High School, have 2 adult children. |
