BUTLER COUNTY PUBLIC BUILDING COMMISSION MEETING

CALL TO ORDER
Commission Chairman Mike Wheeler called the Butler County Board of Commissioners to order at 9:00 a.m. Present were Commissioner Will Carpenter, Commissioner Randy Waldorf, Commissioner Dan Woydziak, Administrator Will Johnson Jr., and Clerk Recorder Tammy Bridges. Commissioner Randy Doll was absent for the Public Building Commission meeting and arrived at 9:30 a.m. for the Butler County Commission meeting.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Waldorf motioned to approve the minutes of the Butler County Public Building Commission Meeting of Monday, May 3, 2005 as written. Commissioner Woydziak seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0.
ITEM #1 – CONSIDER APPROVAL OF THE CONTRACT WITH COMPTON CONSTRUCTION FOR THE REMODEL OF THE EAST ANNEX TO THE BUTLER COUNTY COURTHOUSE
Will Johnson, Administrator, came before the board for approval of the contract with Compton Construction for the remodel of the East Annex.
Commissioner Woydziak motioned to approve the contract with Compton Construction for the remodel of the East Annex and authorize the Chair to sign. Commissioner Waldorf seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0.
OTHER ITEMS OF BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE BOARD
Chuck Boully, George K. Baum, came before the Board for approval of a resolution to authorize the PBC bonds for improvements to the East Annex.
Commissioner Carpenter motioned to authorize Resolution No. PBC 05-26 authorizing the issuance of $2.7 million principal amount, improvement revenue bonds series 2005-2 for the East Annex project. Commissioner Woydziak seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0.
Commissioner Carpenter amended the motion to authorize Resolution No. PBC 05-26, a resolution of the Butler County Public Building Commission, authorizing and providing for constructing and equipping improvements to the Butler County Courthouse and the East Annex thereof; providing for the issuance of the commission’s improvement revenue bonds, series 2005-2, in the aggregate principal amount of $2,700,000, for the purpose of paying the costs of the project as herein defined; prescribing the form and details of the series 2005-2 bonds; authorizing the execution and delivery of a site lease and subordination agreement by and between Butler County, Kansas and the commission; authorizing the lease of the project to Butler County, Kansas; authorizing the execution of a Bond Purchase Agreement by and between the Butler County Public Building Commission, Butler County, Kansas and George K. Baum & Company, as purchaser of the bonds; making certain other covenants and agreements with respect to the foregoing; and authorizing the execution of certain agreements and supporting documents. Commissioner Woydziak seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0.
Commissioner Waldorf motioned to adjourn the meeting of the Board at 9:15 a.m. Commissioner Woydziak seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0.
